Whether you have been setting up a date to start your fitness journey or just keep putting it off to the side until it is a convenience for everything else in your life, it is never too early or too late to start working
out or going to the gym. The hardest thing about going to the gym or working out in your own home isn't the workout itself, but the initiation to start doing so. Yes, the workout may be more physically exhausting to an extent but you actually feel good about yourself afterward.
Being a regular in the gym, I can't tell you how many times I have not wanted to go because of laziness, tired from work, mentally exhausted, all the excuses you can think of not wanting to go because I kept making up excuses for myself. But did the procrastination get me far? No it didn't. It set me back by a large margin. One missed workout, for my own personal standards, feels like it sets me back a week in the least. But how about when I beat down that little voice in my head making up excuses, and actually went? No matter if I was dead tired, or lethargic, I felt great afterward for pushing through the workout and getting it done. Now I could go to bed feeling good about myself and not feeling regretful the next day.
No matter how you felt before the workout, you feel a lot better afterward for going. Even if its just a light workout just to push through your routine, it's still better than skipping altogether for the long run to achieve that beachbody.
Let's be honest with ourselves. We procrastinate a lot. Each and every one of else has a little voice in our head that tells us to put something off for a later date. Let's say you've set up an exact date to start your fitness program/workout routine towards getting your beach body. Today is Thursday and you plan on visiting the gym the following Monday. Let's keep Mondays scheduled routine as a staple, and go to the gym today just to get a feel for it. It can be entirely beneficial especially if you are not accustomed or familiar with the workout equipment. There are usually labels on the workout machines showing you the basic movement and instruction on how to perform the said exercise. If you are confused with any of the equipment, feel free to ask the front desk receptionist or better yet if there is a personal trainer on call. They can usually show you how to use the workout equipment and give pointers while performing the exercise. So since you visited the gym early, you can have a good head start on the first day of your workout.
The moral of the story is, don't let procrastination beat you, rise up and dominate that lazy voice in your head. Give your body a chance to change itself and in the end give YOURSELF a chance a better quality of life and achieve that beachbody you've always deserved.
